"The Winchester" Zombie Safe House Competition Entry
Third Place Winning entry for the 2014 Zombie Safe House competition hosted by Gensler Denver and University of Colorado Denver College of Architecture and Planning

This Halloween-time design competition centered around how to fortify at least 10 individuals against the classic "zombie apocolypse" horror movie scenario. Our submittal focused on creating an original piece of architecture with the notion that the clients had ample time and access to resources to prepare their undead-defeating dwelling.

The major design consideration is that the site contains multiple layers of artifice meant to disrupt the ability of the zombies to access the main structure. This is inspired by the story of the design and construction of the Winchester Mystery House.
